He has also studied at Beason Divinity School, Samford University and holds a Certificate of Christian Training. He has been married to Shan Harper for 41 years, and have a daughter, Mary (Chad) Knight. Tony has pastored local churches for the 28 years, including 5 years at a church in Helena, Montana. Pastor Tony became a Christian at age nine, was called into the music ministry at age 16, and served three local churches for 12 years before being called to preach.
Pastor Tony has a passion for history and is an avid genealogist. In addition, he loves the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and shooting sports. He is also a member of the local Boaz Albertville Amateur Radio club. But his greatest passion is to see souls saved, families being strengthened in the truth of God’s Word and Jesus Christ worshipped and praised. He loves the community of Sand Mountain, he loves Beulah Church and he loves his wife and family, but his greatest treasure is his Lord and Savior Jesus.
Jason is from Albertville, AL and has served as a worship leader for over 15 years. He and his wife Brittany have been married for almost 14 years, and have two girls, Darcy and Brie. Jason believes worship should be a time of adoration to God, reflection of one's self before God, and thankfulness to God, for the Gospel redemption that is only found through Christ. He believes his sole purpose in leading worship is to prepare hearts to receive the Word of God. Jason has also taken on the role of associate pastor of evangelism and outreach, in effort to show people in our community 1) that God wants to meet them right where they are, and 2) they have a church that loves them. God takes us just as we are, but because of His love for us, He refuses to leave us that way. Praise God!
Carl has been a faithful member of Beulah for over 50 years. He has served as deacon for 40 of those years, and music director for 12 years, leading worship in our traditional service as well as directing the choir. Carl has been married to his wife Melanie for over 50 years. They have 2 children, Rissa and Chad, and four grandchildren who are their pride and joy. In the 1970's, both Carl and Melanie were members of the popular Followers Gospel Quartet.
TJ has been a member at Beulah for 10 years and has served as deacon since 2019. Ashley grew up at Beulah and has been a member for 18 years. They both count themselves blessed to serve the youth at Beulah. They are the proud parents of Sam (3 years old) and Charlie (just born in late December 2022). TJ and Ashley both strongly believe in making an impact on young lives for the gospel of Christ. "Pre-teen and teenage years are the most formidable in a person's life. If we can make an impact on their lives for gospel at youth age, and begin teaching sound, spiritual doctrine, they will be more likely to continue in it as they get older. Our Goal is to help them know God loves them, and He has a purpose for their life. Then equip them the best we can so they can live out their purpose and impact others for the gospel."
Melanie and her husband, Steve have been faithful members of Beulah for 40+ years. Melanie and Steve have been married for 44 years, and she is a professional accountant, currently for a local family practice clinic.
Miriam began working at Beulah as a part time secretary in January of 2019. Before coming to Beulah, she served as a full time Administrative Assistant at Mount Vernon Baptist Church for approximately ten years before retiring from working full time. Prior to her time at Mount Vernon, Miriam was an elementary school teacher for twenty-eight years.
More importantly than her work history is that she has been a Christian since she was ten years old, and her desire is to live a life that brings glory to God. Her parents raised her in a Christian home where they always served others. They were splendid examples of serving in the community and church and raised their children to serve others. She enjoys her work at the church where she has numerous opportunities to serve. In both her work history and in her life, Miriam has always strived to serve God first then serve the people around her.
Miriam is married to Ronald Pendergrass, and they have two sons, one grandson, and three great grandchildren. She also has three great nieces and nephews that love their Mimi. She loves spending time with her great grandchildren and playing with them. They help to keep her active by playing tag and hide and seek.
If there is anything Miriam can do to assist you, show would love to hear from you. She is in the church office Monday through Thursday from 8 until 12.
